Choose This Shampoo for a Multi-Fur Family Home: Dogs & Cats

At Groomer And George you’ll find us mostly talking about dogs. It’s who we are! A fun fact about one of our best sellers though: our I’m Sensitive Unscented Shampoo can be used for both cats and dogs! Although cats rarely need to be bathed, our I’m Sensitive Unscented Shampoo for Dogs & Cats formula comes in handy for the multi pet household.

Cats should NEVER have contact with essential oils. Oils such as Lavender contain compounds such as linalool and linalyl acetate. These compounds can cause liver damage to cats, as a cat’s liver is unable to process these compounds. A cat’s sense of smell is 14 times higher than ours. Peppermint oil, citrus, tea tree, and eucalyptus are a few other essential oils that should never be used on your cat or in an essential oil burner in your home.

If your cat has long hair, goes outdoors and tends to tangle, try our Pet Me I’m Soft as a conditioner; this Groomer And George varietal is also unscented.

Cats generally lick themselves as a way of cleaning to rid themselves of parasites. You only need to bathe your cat if they get into things outdoors ~ think of any contaminants they may absorb from the soil, street or the air (even smoke burn-off).

For cats, bathing should not be more than once a month and if indoors maybe only once a year to help with shedding.
